Code of Conduct

This page outlines the rules and regulations held in all physical and virtual events of Claxon Tournaments. Throughout this page, Participants, Spectators, Staff and Guests will be collectively referred to as “Members". All Members of Claxon Tournaments are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct in all events hosted and/or associated with Claxon Tournaments. Members are also expected to abide by the respective rulesets for each event, where applicable, as well as any Terms of Service or End-User License Agreement provided by any relevant third-party.


Our Pledge

To create a safe and friendly environment for all Members, we pledge our best efforts to provide a harassment-free experience for all, regardless of their profile, background or status.

To create a fair and balanced competition for all Members, we pledge our best efforts to remain impartial when enforcing the rules as written out in this Code of Conduct and the respective ruleset for the event (if applicable).


Behavioural Expectations

Members are expected to contribute towards creating a safe and friendly environment in their interactions with others, which may include:

  • Use of inclusive language
  • Respecting differing viewpoints
  • Accepting constructive criticism
  • Use of preferred pronouns
  • Offering assistance (where able)
  • Reporting unacceptable behaviour

Members may be punished for unacceptable behaviour, which may include:

  • Excessive Trolling
  • Use of derogatory language
  • Public or Private Harassment
  • Publishing the Personal Data of others without consent
  • Ignoring communication boundaries
  • Use of sexual language, imagery or content
  • Unwelcome sexual advances
  • Use of disturbing language, imagery or content
  • Starting and/or participation in arguments (not to be confused with debates where members discuss respectfully)
  • Unwelcome accusations and/or assumptions
  • Drug use and/or promotion of such
  • Provoking others
  • Any other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in the given context

Competitive Expectations

Members are expected to follow the rules stated in the rulesets of each event, which also includes:

  • Upholding sportsmanship throughout the event
  • Treating opponents with respect, even outside the competition
  • Use of encouraging language
  • Reporting rulebreakers

Members may be punished for unacceptable behaviour, which may include:

  • Use of hacks (includes the use hacked clients and/or jailbroken devices)
  • Use of glitches, bugs and/or exploits
  • Use of third-party software that affects gameplay
  • Use of third-party attachments which affects the device
  • Use of performance-enhancing drugs, and/or promotion of such
  • Demotivating other competitors
  • Gambling (includes placing bets on teams)
  • Malicious Intent

Enforcement

All Members of Claxon Tournaments have the moral duty to report instances of violation of our Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, and/or the respective competition ruleset (if applicable), by contacting the relevant staff through our supported platforms. All reports will be reviewed and investigated, and will result in a response that is deemed fair and appropriate given the circumstances. To protect whistleblowers, victims and rulebreakers, details of all reports will be kept confidential under our Privacy Policy as Personal Data.

Staff Members hold the right and responsibility to impartially enforce the rules to their discretion. Staff Members may remove any content which violates this Code of Conduct. Staff Members may mute, kick or ban temporarily or permanently any member who violates this Code of Conduct, our Privacy Policy or our Rulesets.

Initial punishments imposed by Staff Members may be overruled by a preceding authority. In rare cases, no punishment may be given if deemed necessary.


Amendments

Claxon Tournaments will amend this Code of Conduct as and when it is needed, to stay up to date with present day societal standards while maintaining our expectations. Major amendments to this Code of Conduct will be announced through our supported Social Media Platforms.

All Members are advised to review this Code of Conduct periodically for any changes. Changes to this Code of Conduct are effective as and when they are reflected on this page.
